Description
U236-000-R Overview:
Connects Your USB Device to a Wired Ethernet Network without an Internet Card Installed
This USB to Ethernet adapter allows you to instantly connect your computer, laptop, tablet or other USB-compatible device to a wired 10/100 Mbps Ethernet network, even if your device has no NIC (Network Interface Controller) installed. The adapter is a more convenient, less expensive way to go online than opening your device and installing an internal Ethernet card.
Plug and Play with No Power Supply Needed
This USB 2.0 Ethernet adapter offers access to an Ethernet network when Wi-Fi is unavailable or when a wired connection offers faster speeds. Just connect the built-in USB cable to your device’s USB port (which also powers the adapter), and wait for the installation process to finish (you may have to reboot your computer). Then, connect the RJ45 port to a LAN port using a Cat5e/6 network cable (such as Tripp Lite’s N201-Series Cat6 UTP patch cable, sold separately). The adapter works with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. It is backward compatible with USB 1.1 devices.
Delivers Full Ethernet Performance
The compact USB to Ethernet adapter supports full 10/100 Mbps network speeds and USB 2.0 speeds, allowing you to transfer data quickly and stream audio and video. It’s compliant with IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3ab and 802.3az standards. It supports full duplex with IEEE 802.3x flow control and half duplex with backpressure flow control. LEDs indicate successful data transfers.
Typical Applications:
• Upload data from your notebook or download data from the Ethernet at true 10/100 Mbps speeds
• Replace a malfunctioning RJ45 port or Ethernet card on your laptop or PC
